The TRANSCEND project wrapped up its 5-year project with an insightful final workshop held at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai on 27 November 2025. The event brought together researchers, practitioners, and civil society representatives from across Mumbai and beyond to reflect on the project’s achievements, share key findings, and chart a course for future action. The workshop featured a series of presentations, breakout groups, and panel discussions that highlighted the project’s work in advancing the understanding of future risk pathways and key discourses on local adaptation from diverse perspectives. The event concluded with a vision for future research needs and opportunities for collaboration, as TRANSCEND will not be the end of this fruitful transdisciplinary endeavour but followed up by new initiatives and projects.

On 23 October 2025, the TRANSCEND team, led by Prof. Matthias Garschagen, held its final workshop in Jakarta. At the venue of the Indonesian National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the TRANSCEND team welcomed 34 participants from civil society, academia, and government agencies to a one-day workshop to present and discuss research results on local vulnerability scenarios, urban growth trajectories, and local views on flood risk and adaptation.
